Project Overview

The ‘Last Mile Program’ between Ardrossan and Port Wakefield South Australia was one of the highest priority outcomes developed collaboratively by the Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, Primary Industries and Regions SA, and Primary Producers South Australia to address a major “missing link” identified in the network for larger road-train vehicles. Due to the regional locality, a number of smaller projects were grouped into a single larger project which comprised up to 30 road projects including intersection upgrades, road widenings and overtaking lanes, with the aim of improving freight access and safety for all road users across the Yorke Peninsula.
