Project Overview

The Metropolitan Intersection Upgrades involve providing capacity improvements to 5 key major intersections to address road congestion, improve traffic flow and provide a safer road network. The upgrades involve large-scale road widenings to provide additional lanes, new traffic signals and lighting, new stormwater drainage, dedicated cycling lanes and pedestrian crossing points, indented bus bays and water-sensitive urban design features such as re-use of stormwater for irrigation of landscaped areas. Intersections being upgraded include; Goodwood & Springbank / Daws Roads, Portrush & Magill Roads, Glen Osmond & Fullarton Roads, Cross Road & Fullarton Roads, and Grand Junction & Hampstead / Briens Roads.
